You'll never forget your first!

On Thursday, after my volunteering shift at MSKCC, I decided to enjoy the evening and take a stroll down 2nd Ave to my old hood before getting on the subway to return to Hell's Kitchen. Most of the new additions are trivial to most, but to me a year ago they would have been life changing: a working and non-sketchy laundromat, a place to get my eyebrows groomed, a dunkin donuts, etc. I took a moment to take in the nostalgia of my old hood in the finally finished park area across the bridge entrance. The picture you see is looking east toward the 59th street bridge to Queens. If you look at the right between the trees, there is a white building next to the orange construction signs. The top two windows from the right are my old apartment...tear...how I miss that place! My first New York apartment! It was ridiculously small, up a killer flight of stairs, with a leaning foundation and a non-existent closet, but I heart it still! I hope someone else is loving it as much as I did.....even if it is for 40% more than I paid - suckers!

Um...I heart that apartment so much! Especially hanging out the shotty fire escape to smoke cigs!

I am loving this already! Though I only spent a few short days in this apartment, I am pretty sure many of a new york peeper saw me in my skimpies!

I saw the apartment and it was so small I couldn't believe a girl from Texas could live in it!

Okay, I think I just learned how to leave my name. Anyway, I really like this sight . . . Crystal, you write very well!
